📰This week’s tasty stops are here👆🏻 #minifoodguide 📰This week’s tasty stops are here👆🏻 #minifoodguide
1)🌯 Turquaz - Finally a decent option for Turkish food in Portugal. Mainly eastern Turkish food but there are some meze (sort of Turkish tapas) options , as well as Iskender (another type of kebap from Bursa)
🥙We tried, içli köfte (meat stuffed bulgur balls); kebap mix, lahmacun (Turkish flatbread ancestor to pizza) and fırında sütlaç (rice pudding oven-caramelised version). And not to forget “Ayran” (Turkish refreshening drink with yoghurt, salt and water) and finished with black tea (of course 😎)
They were all almost as close to the ones in Turkiye but my favorite was lahmacun 🤤. Finally a good place to relieve cravings of Turkish food.
There is some space for improving but since they have just opened, it will get better in time. One little suggestion would be for interiors which would have been better with warmer colors or decoration that would elevate the whole experience.

2)🥢 Luka Eatery — We stumbled upon this spot completely by chance, and it turns out it’s quite popular! Luka Lisbon is the sister restaurant of the 7-year-old Luka Bangkok, featuring a menu inspired by flavors from Thailand, Korea, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam. We ordered the General Tso’s Cauliflower, Kimchi Fried Rice with Chicken, and Salmon Curry — all of which were really satisfying. They also offer brunch options with an East Asian twist, which makes it a versatile choice any time of day. I especially loved the cozy atmosphere, with its small boho details. It’s a great setting for everything from relaxed dinners with friends to casual nights out. More info @lukalisboa.hi

3) Castro - After the original pastel de Belem, my favorite go-to pastel de nata place. It is a perfect little finish to top off your dinner. I like to take a little walk so I feel less guilty for the calories ;) and to enjoy it with their tasty cup of “abatanado bem cheio” ☕️

✈️ Breaking barriers in the skies 🪖🎖️ The story of ✈️ Breaking barriers in the skies 🪖🎖️
The story of Sabiha Gökçen—the world’s first female fighter pilot—is a powerful reminder that courage knows no limits.
As I recently wrote about two brave Portuguese pilots, it felt only fitting to highlight her journey this March. From growing up in an orphanage to making aviation history, her legacy continues to inspire generations of women around the world.
You can read more in my latest blog post, published on March 8. (🔗Link in Bio)

🌯I was not planning to make a seperate post about 🌯I was not planning to make a seperate post about it but I received so many questions that I needed to. Jafra Restaurant is run as a Palestinian restaurant, but you can easily find a variety of dishes here ranging from Ottoman/Turkish food to Lebanese and Moroccan cuisine. During the 400 years of Ottoman rule (1516–1917) some food and beverages like rice pilafs, dolma (stuffed vegetables such as grape leaves), yogurt, baklava, künefe, and coffee culture were introduced to the region. They already have dishes of Levantine, Arabic or bedouin origins, so it is quite a satisfying cuisine with all these influences. 🫓For me, as someone who craves Turkish food while abroad, this place is a gem, although the dishes have a slight Middle Eastern touch due to the spices and textures. So I aleady expected some differences. Though I would really love to see dishes like fatteh, maqluba and mansaf on the menu, which would reflect the region’s cuisine very well. 🫖After the meal, those who like it can enjoy the shisha lounge, and if not, you can simply relax with a coffee or some Moroccan tea. 📍Adress: R.
